Insurance covers the car, not the driver. As long as you are driving a car that is insured with the owners permission, you have coverage.

The short answer is if it doesn't say so no.The more comprehensive response having had the same issue this week is that when you read up the blurb that comes with insurance, the feature that used to exist so that if you were fully comp you could drive another persons car on a TP basis has been removed.

It seems that this was being abused by some drivers and this action is part of a group of precautions to clamp down on uninsured drivers. Sadly, this means that you'll need to be a named driver on the car owners policy that you want to drive and vice versa - a bit more money for the insurance companies then!!
