When I pumped air to my tires, a truck backed accidentally and damaged the rear bumper of my car and front bumper was also damaged as a result of hitting the post of the air pump.The driver acknowledged his fault completely. He wanted to settle the damage privately but changed his mind due to high cost. Now the insurance co. are involved.Do I have to pay the deductible? Will this accident affect my insurance history in the future?

If you make a claim thru the insurance company of the person that hit your vehicle there would be no deductible. If you claim thru your own company you would pay your deductible and your insurance company will go to the other persons insurance to get their money back along with your deductible.If the damage to your car is not that extensive and it is driveable claim thru the other persons insurance. You just need to call them up and tell them that you want to turn in a claim.

You can either go with your insurance and you will have to pay your deductible. Your insurance company will then go after the guy who hit your cars insurance. Once they collect from his insurance you will get your deductible back. That is called subrogation. Your insurance should not go up as you stated you were not driving your car was parked (you were out of the car getting air) Also you can collect through the person who hit you (there insurance) but it will take longer.
