You can get insurance for a car that isnt yours, think about hire cars. The people who drive them dont own them. Go to an insurance brokers and ask for insurance and give them the details of the car. I had insurance to drive any vehicle under a fully comprehensive insurance policy but thats expensive.

If you're under 18 you can't get insurance w/o your parents. Are you sure their insurance won't add you on? Seems to me any insurance company would at the right price unless your driving record has a DUI or really bad accidents. If your parents told you the insurance company said no, I would be highly suspect. =) Your parents should switch insurance carriers to find one that will add you onto their policy. They're the parents. It's the responsible thing to do.
