Question:
I've lost the paper counterpart to my driving licence and I need to take my practical test soon (so my instructor says), can anyone tell me how to get a replacement? The DVLA website is confusing and vague... I know it costs £19 but that's all I can remember...
Thank You!
Answers:
If your address is still the same as that shown on the licence you can apply for a duplicate over the phone using a debit or credit card. If someone else is paying for you then the person needs to be with you. The phone number is 0870 240 0009. If you ask them they will send it out 1st class for you. The licence will leave DVLA within 48 hours.
Traffic School and insurance companies?
If you have moved you will need to get a D1 application form from any postoffice. Complete sections 1 - 5. No photo or ID needed and you will need a cheque or postal order for £19. This procedure can take up to 3 weeks.
I hit another car that was blocking my driveway?
Why don't you ring them. The only problem you will have is that they may not be able to send it to you in time for your test. Best thing to do is contact DVLA about the licence counterpart, and tell them about your practical test date. They might be able to send you a new one in short notice. May cost you more though? At the same time I would also ring DSA and tell them about the missing counterpart. They will understand. Perhaps you can get the date for the test changed to later in the year? That's the only thing you can do to avoid forfeiting your test fee.In Idaho but could apply anywhere ~ Vehicle Title Question?
