it depends where you live if in the UK if stopped by the police it can be impounded and crushed currently the Hampshire police are doing this and they are catching over a 1000 people a week and taking there cars the dvla do give you 14 days from when the car is due to be taxed to get it taxed ,the police are a different matter they don't tend to be so lenient,if your stopped in certain parts of the UK who don't confiscate your veichle then your issued with a fixed penalty fined basically.its not worth taking the risk the police have built in scanners in the BMW and Volvo patrol cars and can check all your details with the dvla at a click of a finger i would be worried every time i saw a police car if i had no tax but if your asking this question i think you already know the answer don't do itI got a speeding ticket...is there a way to get around my insurance company so they dont find out?
