Question:
the problem is that about 6 years ago i got a title loan and then the business closed and ive never heard another word from them. so i actually have a lien against the vehicle. the lien is for over $2000 and the car is only worth maybe $500 should i just junk the car or is it possible to sell it with no title at all

Is having car insurance the same as membership?
You can't sell it with no title. You need to do a title search at DMV to see what current status is, then you can decide what to do. If there's a lien, find out if it can be cleared w/ reasonable cost. If not, just declare it non-op, though if there's a lien I doubt you can even donate it.How can you get a salvage title cleared and legal to drive in Michigan?
you can apply for a new tittle and if the lien is still active it will show up. you may be able to get the new tittle cleared through the ex-owner since the biz has folded up. he prob wrote the loss off already. but you cannot transfer a tittle that has a lien on it.is there a way to get a free copy of my driving record online? i live in texas?
GO TO YOUR LOCAL DMV AND TELL THEM YOU NEED A BONDED TITLE OR A TITLE HEARING. REGISTERED LETTERS WILL BE SENT TO LAST REGISTERED OWNERS AND LIEN HOLDER. IF THERE IS NO RESPONSE, A TITLE WILL BE ISSUED IN YOUR NAME....MY WIFE WORKS AT DMV, JUST TOLD ME IF LOAN IS OVER 6 YEARS OLD THERE MAY EVEN BE A SIMPLER PROCEDURE .RULES VARY FROM STATE TO STATE .More Questions & Answers ...
