Question:
Alright, so I'm a first time diver, I live in North Carolina, and I am 18. So we have this car not in my name but its ours (long story) so we wanted to get the name switched over to me, but its financed. So I need insurance first before I can get it switched over to me. So they told me to get non-owners insurance. Now, for some stupid reason I can't live in the same household with someone who has a licenses or insurance and get it or I would have to get put under that persons insurance, only thing is, they're telling me I need to have some sort of license to get that insurance in the first place, its just I can't get licenses without insurance, so how the hell do I do this? Do they really expect me to get my permit for a day just to pull this off? More so, whats the POINT? And when I do get quotes they are always outragous, the bare-minium is ALWAYS at least 1300 for just 6 months. Thats 200 and something a month, and thats just what it is "at least" sometimes its even more.

How to get a 92 mini cooper registered in the US?
Do you have a current driver's license? If yes, have your name and car put on your parent's or whoever owns the car and the house you live in's policy.
If no, go get one. You can't have auto insurance without a valid license.
If getting added onto someone else's policy isn't an option than you'll have to bite the bullet and pay something outrageous.
It sounds like there was a miscommunication between you and whoever you talked to about getting insurance. If your intending to own the vehicle, they can bind the policy for the day the title is switched. That would appease the financier. Which would allow you to move forward on getting the title. It's very similar to when you buy a new car at a dealership, but have no current insurance.
Question about getting a liscence?
I don't know what to tell you for all of the other stuff but I would check out Esurance. I just swithed to them from progressive and mine went form 1400 for six months to 990 for six with esurance. As far as the other stuff goes hopefully a lawyer gives you an answer.More Questions & Answers ...
