His name or mine?

Question:
i am about to move in with my fiance which means i will have to start paying my own insurance. we both have our own vechiles, his truck title is in his name and my car title is in my name.

Can I register a car in IL with a license from FL?

my question is... am i allowed to get my car insured under his name even if the title isn't in his name? he is 25 with a clean record, and i am 18 with one wreck (wasnt my fault, hit by a drunk driver) so i figured it would be cheaper to get it under his name. but i want the title to still be in my name. i live in ky if that matters.

Help!! anyone!?

sorry if this is confusing!! if i didn't explain it clear enough let me know and i'll try to ellaborate.

I have 3 points on my driving licence, . How long do I have to have them on my licence, how do I get them off?

Wait until you are married, combine your car insurance under one policy (His or yours, probably wont matter which) and then you will BOTH see savings because married couples are considered safer and because you should also get a "Multiple vehicle" discount as well. I suggest you stay with whichever one of you has had their current insurance provider the longest, but you should check both just to make sure which would be lowest.

How much is a provisional licence?

Anyone can isure anyone else as long as the owner knows about it and sings off in some cases to prevent fraud. You can add your car to his insurance, although you will both be added to each others as "drivers in the household" meaning you may both drive the other car at some point. I myself am secondary to my wife's insurance in the same respect. As long as your a driver on the policy, it will be like your own insurance. If you leave his name off and he gets in an accident in your car, (pending your states law) it could be covered as if a friend drove and in some cases not covered at all.

How long does a dui on your record affect your auto insurance?

You can both have insurance under the same name, but the price won't depend on whose name it's in. They'll do histories on both of you for the prices... it's not like they'll just look at one of your driving records and then charge that x2 for two of you.

Using a Car from Jersey in UK?

You can both go to the same company since you will be sharing an address, and probably get a multiple car discount as a result. He will add you as a secondary driver on his, you will add him as secondary on yours. If your name is on as a driver they will know your record anyway, so just keep yours in your name, but unless you are already with the same company, I would advise getting the policies combined.

Driving with Forgotten License?

You will have to check with both companies. there are very few companies that will let you insure both vehicles under one policy since you are not married and the vehicles are titled in different names. It is not going to matter whose name you insure it under because they will take both of your driving records and ages into accoutn when calculating the premiums.

Is the insurance company responsible?

If you called my office and asked me to combine both vehicles on one policy while not married I would tell you no. You would have to wait until you were married.
