Ok so I was out shopping for my daughter's b-day tomorrow and a cop pulls me over asks for my license well I have no license because it is suspended well I can get it back already but I'm so busy with school and work I know this is very important and I don't blame anyone else but myself, now I'm sad and depressed because I don't know whats going to happen they said my car can get impounded for 30-days but on Monday I'm going down to DMV and getting everything fixed to get my license back, I'm so depressed what should I do? Do you think they will hold my vehical for 30 days I will get my license on Monday do you think they will give me my car please someone help.... California is my state thanks

I doubt you will get your license back on Monday now that you have another violation on your record, but you can try. If I remember correctly, in California they will keep your car for 30 days for that type of violation. Ask the towing company that has the car what you need to get it back, and how soon you can get it.

And no, they won't "give" you the car. You will have a impound fee for towing and storage to pay before you get it.

So sorry about the bs you are having to deal with, I can relate...my car was reposessed last month due to a bank error and it took 3 weeks to straighten it out.. It feels like prison to not have the freedom of a vehicle...You will get it back and even if it takes 30 days life will be back to normal before you know it.. Dont let it beat you and dont let it damper the birthday celebration with your daughter, the memories you make with her will long outlast the hastle of an impound. We all put things off so just go on and learn from it, it doesnt mean you are a bad person, chin up and move on.

When your vehicle gets impounded the car "MAY" be impounded for 30 days depending if the issuing Citation Officers Inforces it. 1st thing get your license fixed, you'll need that to get your car back. 2nd go to the Police Station of the city where your car was impounded ans ask if there is a hold for 30 days, if not Great. You'll need a release from the Police Station BEFORE you can go pick-up your car at the impound. Remember your being charged storage fees DAILY so hurry up. So to make it easy it goes something like this ( Fix License + Release Order from PD Department + Paying Impound fees = Your car back!!)Will your auto insurance premium increase?
Aww that's rough I'm sorry. Your looking at some serious cash to fix this problem. Wish I could tell you other wise but I cant. For starters there's the fees just to get your license reinstated then if you were issued a "driving while on suspended" ticket there's the fees for that. I hate to tell you this but that is an arrestable offense. Regardless of whether or not you get your license back they are not going to just give you your car back you will have to pay all charges for the impound such as daily storage fees, the cost of the towing, etc.If you hit a deer, how long do you have to file a claim?
Ok, me again. You have to slow down a bit.... take things one at a time. Here is the way to handle it; Make a list of all the priorities that you have to fix right now, in order of importance and take care of them one by one. Take care of the license first and foremost;, then get the car out. Do not worry about the birthday right now, you can celebrate that later.
