What does it mean when a car has a reconstruction title?

Question:
it has been in an accident and has gone through repairs but is in working condition, but does the title mean anything else?

Answers:

(UK only) What insurance companies offer a joint car/motorbike policies?

A reconstruction or R title car was written off as a total loss by the insurance company due to the damage exceeding a certain percentage of it's value. As a rule, once fixed, they are worth 50% or less of book, and very few if any banks will finance it. However, once in a while, if its fixed right, someone could get a deal on it, but the title brand must be disclosed by law.

what would you do if an old lady flipped you off while driving your car?

A reconstruction tittle lets anyone know that the car was severly damage in an auto accident , and probably sold to either te junk yard or an insurance wrecking yard and the rebuilt it from used parts. And therefore cannot be sold as a used car outright, because it was reconstructed.

i just moved here-i have to take my drivers test to get my license-im live in houston,tx by the reliant?

it means its been wrecked ,,and fixed back,,usually they have been totaled when they have a title like this,,and it will always be this way,,you cant get it cleared, but if it was done right ,,it don't hurt one,,they usually drive and run good,,hope this help,s.

whiplash!!?

car has been totaled and will always have less resale value with this title(about 40% less) these cars can be a cheap way into a newer car if the repairs are done correctly. especially if you put alot of miles per year on a car. the dealer is also obligated to inform you of this when purchasing the car.

will i lose my no claims bonus if my car isn't insured for 18 months or more?

the car was a total. someone repaired the car to working order. It could have been a flood car or something. If I can remember correct if the damage is half or more the price of the car they total it. High end cars have costly parts thus a total or salvage title is issued. and a body man or mechanic can repair it cheap, if he bought it. In texas you have to state that the car has a recon title or salvage title. I also am not sure but i think i am on this is most insurance companys will not cover a recon/salvage car. if they do you pay twice the insurance. But That's just hear say,ya know.

r u the owner of a car if u have the title?

it means it was wrecked bad enough to total out. But then somebody boughty it and (hopelfully) properly reconstructed it. Or somebody stole a car just like that one took the vin off the wrecked car and put them on this car just like in the original Gone in 60 Seconds (not the crappy remake)

Dealership dropped the ball and did not take our names off the title..?

It means that the vehical was totaled in a accident.Just because it has a reconstructed title does not mean it is a bad vehical.A vehical like this should cost thousands less than the others with no damage history.Make sure you get a good deal on this vehical and take it to a mechanic to see if it has been repaired properly.I have a new ford pickup that was submerged in a pond for 2hr.It is a dependable truck and i saved thousands.Remember that resale value will be low when you try to put it up for sale
