fender bender 16 days ago, no police report, b/c police were not notified. Told the guy twice that if he wanted to file an insurance claim, call the police for the report. Didn't want it, so I told him I would pay for his bumper and paint job for the bumper. Week goes by and there is "more damage", est.@ $2,000, so wants a police report. "cop friend" makes what appears a half *** report, leaving out his name, time notified/arrived and badge number. And there is only one page. I call police to send an officer to check it out, they say they can only write reports at the scene. So, I don't give my info b/c cops on the phone tell me not to. Do I stick to my guns and give him the money for the bumper and tell him to f*ck off? Will insurance even do anything since there is no report, so in turn no valid record? Should they even be notified since there is no proof of the accident? Live in Florida, no fault state. Paralegal said he's making empty threats, case cuz there is no report.
