Can someone mess with my insurance claims if they have a hold on the original policy?

Question:
i gave my insurance policies to an agent to process claims. they ask for the original. worried if they can change the name of the benifactor.

Answers:

an automobile to be considered a classic sholud be how old?

That is a bit strange. Usually, you just verify your id by providing a ploicy number, birthdate, and perhaps driver's license. You policy is your reciept that proves coverage. I would have said no but the fact that the agent has it is wierd and I understand your suspicious. Ask for it back or a photocopy of it. Tell them that you want to read through it and hopefully your concerns will be then put to rest.
