Did you study for your CA driving license test (written)or just winged it?

Question:
(i am talking about the written test) is it really common sense or should i plan to spend hours and hours of studying the handbook?????

Answers:

why do i have to have car insurance on my son, when his dad bought him a car. he never drives my car.?

I live in Maryland, not CA but I did study for my written test the night before (I took the test about a month ago) and I am glad that I did. A lot of it is just common sense and a little bit was knowing road signs, but the rest (at least on the Maryland test) was a little more difficult and I'm glad that I studied--I knew everything on the test and passes the first time :-)

You know you can get a DUI for driving a bike but......?

It won't take too much of your time either. Just read the book for an hour or two the night before, the morning of, and on the way(or while you're waiting). Then you should be good. You'll probably do fine :-)
Good luck!!

how much is the average car insurance for an 18 year old female in california?

two minutes before the exam. Becuse of luck, i'm sure, i passed. missed seven. Just read the book once, and use common sense. oh, and pay attention when you drive with your parents, to what they do.

What happens if I let someone who is not insured drive my car and they get into an accident?

It should be studied because there are a couple of tricky details, but it shouldn't require massive mind bending studying. But some will help.

Legal Question.?

Good luck!!

Insurance Price?

Don't spend hours studying. They have some stupid questions on the test, very irrelevant. Take the practice tests on the state website. If you don't do well, read it a couple of times. Use your common sense as well. If you don't pass, get studying and retry it in a week. But you at least need to read it twice to get a basic grasp.

I'm going to buy a '94 van in good condition. Do I need to get comp and collision insurance?

I studied the handbook once for 2 days and looked at my grandfather's written test to study from (but his was old, of course). Yesterday, I did a practice test (before going to the DMV) that had similar questions, which seemed like common sense. I went to register and take my written test. I failed twice (I was one point away from passing the second time) and was so frustrated about it. I'm going to study more and take it tomorrow again. This guy took it three times and failed. It does seem like common sense, but some of the questions are tricky. Just be careful and study. Good luck!
