Contact your local DMV. Maybe they can help.who has the salvage rights of the containers on the stricken vassel?
You'll have to file for a lost title. I believe the DMV can assist, or if not, they'll at least be able to point you in the right direction.God driving jobs in Cali()r NV?
Or call AAA..Here in Califronia they do alot of DMV stuffFirst, you should NEVER have purchased a vehicle without recieving the title if you paid in full! Always get a reciept from the seller, and an "as is" bill of sale. If you have an old registration for the car, take it to the DMV in your area and they can do a title search for you. Hopefully your car wasn't a stolen vehicle, or your going to be in hot water with the cops. Either way, start with the DMV. In the future, NEVER buy a car without them handing over the title to you! The last thing you also said was you were "riding on drive out" tags. If you cannot register the car, your driving without insurance....so your illegal in all areas at this point.
You'll have to go back to the seller and have them get a duplicate title from the DMV and then sign that over to you.
If you can't locate the seller, you'll have to apply for an abandoned title. This may take up to six months or longer during which time you won't be able to drive the car. It is in your best interest to locate the seller and have them get a duplicate title. Their name and address should be right on the bill of sale.
I live in 2 states which one should I register my car in? VA/NJ?
If you didn't change the title over, and apply for a lost title, they will send the duplicate to the vehicle owner, and that isn't you. Take whatever paperwork you have proving you bought it and take it to the DMV and see what, if anything, they can do for you.More Questions & Answers ...
