When I tax the car I need to take the insurance certificate (in-date) with me. I think it's o.k. on your drive. yes as long as its on the drive. for more information go on www.dvla.co.ukIt's fine on the drive. As its all pretty much computerised now, you should be able to do it online. Beware though it can take up to a week to reach you and although your car is taxed,in the eyes of the law, the councils will still nick you for not displaying the tax disc.

Have you tried taxing the car on line? I have done this and the relevant insurance details came up anyway. This may not be possible if the car is new to you but worth a look. I think you can also tax over the phone if you have a bank card.Where can i get an inspection sticker and license plates?
yes you do need insurance papers but so long as your drive is private you are OK if its part of the high way then your not and don't be tempted to drive it as you could be done and it will cost more to insureCan I get out of these offerences?
Taxing it on line could be the answer if the DVLA have your details for that car. You should be Ok on the drive but in theory as the tax has run out it should be declaired SORN (statutory off road notice) Which can be done at a post office by filling out a form. Even parked on private land you can still get fined if not declared SORN. Not nice but just another way of the Goverment getting more money/ information out of us.More Questions & Answers ...
