Car Accident and Insurance?

Question:
I was in an accident earlier this week, the passenger side of the vehicle was hit. I was the passenger. The car I was in was damaged; the accident was no fault of my friend's. It was the other car driver's fault. I didn't go the hospital because I didn't want to miss work. Now I am being told that I waited too long to seek medical attention. At the time of the accident, I was in shock.
Questions, I would like to receive medical treatment, who pays? The other car driver's insurance company or my friend's insurance company?
Should I go to the hospital at this time to seek medical attention or will it be next to impossible to get the claim paid? My neck and shoulder only started hurting a day after the accident. It is now several days later and I have not gotten any sleep since it occured.

How can I obtain a CDL license in Oregon what are the steps any help appreciated?

haha.. it cracks me up when people think they are out of luck when they dont go to the hospital right after the accident. Insurance companies arent stupid.. they know at the time of loss your adrenaline is pumping and you can not feel your injury.. YOU ARE FINEEEEE. You dont have to go right at the accident.. generally you actually have YEARS to claim!

It is OK that you haven't treated yet. It doesn't mean that you can't make an injury claim. It does mean your claim will likely get scrutinized real closely though.

As far as your med bills your options are;
Your friends auto insurance Med Pay or Personal Injury Protection (P.I.P.)Coverage. In most states one of these coverages will be provided by the company for the car you were in. These coverages are provided regardless of what vehicle is at-fault. You are an innocent passenger with no liability or negligence.

Odds are that your friends insurance company will have some forms for you to fill out. So if you haven't already done so, call the company and ask what coverage is available and make sure they know you are hurt.

Is there a way I can get forms needed for getting a driver's permit in my state online?

Your question assumes someone other than you will pay your bills. As with all financial transactions you are responsible for any and all your bills, whether or not you have insurance. Now, if your friend has Medical Payments coverage on their policy they may be primary over any other health insurance available. If they do not carry such coverage then your health insurance should pay. If you don't have health insurance.YOU pay. Regardless, YOU responsible for the costs of treatment incurred...UPFRONT.

In the end, will you receive compensation from the atfault party for your injury claim? Possibly? But the at fault driver nor his insurance company has any contractual obligation or legal obligation to pay your bills as you incur them. They are only obligated to compensate you (BIG DIFFERENCE) for your injury claim when you have completed your course of treatment. Your compensation is based upon the medical bills and records and nature of injury. Nothing more, nothing less. If you have unpaid bills at the time of setlement you take the money from your settlement & pay your bills and whatever is left over is yours to keep.

My license is suspended but my car was hit by another person. Does their insurance still pay?

Depends on what state you are in, but most have up to 1 year to report injuries. Some up to 3 years. Now, if you are in a no fault medical state, then your insurance would pay. Otherwise theirs will. Before you go into the hospital/dr office, get a CLAIM NUMBER from the insurance company that will be required to pay. If you don't know, ask your insurance agent. Also get an address of where they are supposed to send the bills. If you have any problems, contact your agent.
