Question:
I am 16 years of age, and I own a '85 2.8L V6 Fiero GT. It's of course 2 door and a sports car. I have the title and plates all ready in my name. I was wondering before I go to get insurance Monday, do you guys think it will be expensive for me? My mother is adding me as a second driver and sadly I am not carrying a B average for that discount. I tried getting some quotes from Progressive it was 650 and Nationwide it was 800, and my mother uses Nationwide. I am not sure if I did the quote correctly though because it shouldnt be that much! Please any helpful idea's or thoughts! Thanks.

Car Accident and Insurance question?
If your male and only 16 yes your insurance will be high as you are a risk (if you will). But with time, better grades, and a clean driving record you can probably knock it down. Also ask the companies if you took drivers ed, if that will give you a discount. Some companies also will give you a discount if you take a driver improvement course approved by the insurance company (usually given by the National Safety Council. The best thing to do is call and ask not do the ones on-line they just give you a vague idea and are not all that accurate. Good LuckTeenage drive in a sports car...Yep you are gonna pay.
What types of things do i need to know for my permit test?
It will be that much because you're 16. The fact that you own an '85 Fiero shouldn't matter as you're just buying liability at this point. I feel for you, as I was seventeen when I bought my first car. Looking back, I would have waited until I was out of school. It would have helped on my studies. As it turned out, I went from a B student to a D student.More Questions & Answers ...
