i am 17 years old and i'm on a plan with my parents right now. i drive a 1993 cavalier, and am looking into buying a 2005 impala. how much (roughly) will my insurance payments be a year, or per month.

Have you ever had a suspension for an insurance lapse in NY?

NO way to tell without knowing your driving record, where you live, how many miles you drive, how are your grades, and lots of other sundry details to list here. It also depends on what kind of coverages you are getting. Comprehensive would cost more than liability, as will different amounts of liability. You'll have to call your agent and ask.
