I live in CA & friend let me borrow car for the day, I was cut off by another car, swerved to avoid hitting him, hopped a curb and damaged the air dam and bumper and tore out support for the radiator. Friend only has liability insurance -- but I have full coverage. Is this kind of damage covered by my policy?

Not sure if anyone is going to try to say to file an uninsured motorist claim if this was caused by a vehicle that did not stay at the scene, but disregard that if it's advised. CA does not offer that coverage for an accident of that nature. So collision coverage is the only way to go for getting the vehicle fixed under the policy.
