There may be specific exclusions on your policy that preclude payment for non-owned vehicles, but it wouldn't hurt to get a claim set up and have your claim reviewed by a licensed claims adjuster in California, instead of us knuckleheads on CarQnA.com ( smile ).
Your insurance will probably-maybe cover the damages. It depends on what your contract states.
Not sure if anyone is going to try to say to file an uninsured motorist claim if this was caused by a vehicle that did not stay at the scene, but disregard that if it's advised. CA does not offer that coverage for an accident of that nature. So collision coverage is the only way to go for getting the vehicle fixed under the policy.
