Question:
I have a '85 car that didn't pass emission. I was told to get my oil changed and use some gas treatment to cure the problem. I drove it this weekend (in Ga.) and received a citation for no regstration on my car before I took my next emission test. Can this even happen? Can't I drive my car while in process to receive my car tag?

NO!Short term car insurance (UK)?
it doesn't sound like you were driving out a fuel treatment because if you think about it you will realise that you can run it out without driving on the roadMy husband got a DWI in a different state...does it affect his driving record in other states?

The Car insurance company gave me a low estimate on repairs?

I bought a car and its registered in my name. I drove it without getting it insured?
I had something similar with a 1972 Chevelle SS.I was rebuilding it in my dads driveway. The police came along and cited me for a derelict auto.
I got it together & got an inspection and licensed before my court date. The judge dismissed it. But I still had to pay court cost.
Will speeding tickets raise your insurance?
So, Possibly if you get your emissions treated & get your inspection before your fine is due, maybe it will be thrown out.
What does the Non-Owners Insurance cover exactly?
the people that failed your car should have provided you with a paper stating what was wrong and need to fix. apparently they didnt. you can possibly beat the ticket by appearing with such a paper ( go back and ask for one) and you can also say " guilty with an explaination " then explain what it failed for ,what you were doing when ticketed. the problem then would be the distance from where you worked on the car to where you were ticketed. if you were just "working the kinks out" you should have been within a block or so of your home. if you were more then 10 miles or in the mall parking lot - apparently using the car instead of "fixing it" then the ticket will probally stand. hubby had this problem too , altho his ticket wasnt invalidated because he was stopped by the cop while exiting the bar's parking lot - proving that he was "using" , not fixing the car.More Questions & Answers ...
