Question:
I am 16 and I live in California. This is what I plan to do to get my license and I want to know if it'll work.
I dont have a Social Security Number and i want to drive?
I am going to wait until a month or so after my 17th birthday (February) to get my permit. I am going to practice driving with my parents for 10-11 months until it is my 18th birthday. Like, the day after my 18th birthday, I want to take my driver's license test. Can I do that without taking driver's training? I assume that I can because an 18-year-old can get their license without getting a permit (which is used in driver's training).
Help! A friend has had his car seized by the DVLA for no tax today.?
And yes, of course, I should take driver's training but I feel more comfortable being taught/helped by my parents. Will my plan work? Because if it won't, then I want to get my permit as soon as possible and go through driver's training to get my license.
Answers:
On a street bike, what is approx. insurance, for a 22 year old guy, couple tickets.?
Your plan should work...in most states you either have to take drivers ed or be taught by parents....Why are teenage girls insurance rates cheaper than boys?
with drivers ed you do not have to take a behind-the-wheel test to get your license...thats basically the only reason most people take drivers ed...
What insurance companies have you had trouble with auto and home?
for your learners permit--again depending on state laws--you may have to take a road knowledge exam. The road knowledge exam consists of two parts, the traffic sign and the general knowledge...You need to get 100% on the sign test, it is usually 10 questions long. The general knowledge exam usually has 25 questions and you must get at least 80% correct...anyways, good luck and make sure before you go that you have all the required documents...
U think i can pass my drivers test?
Well my friend it is no good to drive a car with out driver license. The reason I say it, because the road are dangerous to drive a car. The best thing u can do is to wait til it is the right time to get the driver licence OK. Good luck with it. And becareful on the road as well.If you borrow someone's car, whose automobile insurance covers the vehicle, theirs or yours?
I got my permit when I was 15.State laws are stricter on younger drivers so I would suggest going to a drivers ed class at sears or something. Your parents will get a discount for it too.
I think your plan is fine but why don't you just go to your local DMV and ask them for a driver's manual first. It'll take you like 2 days to memorize what it says. Then go get your permit. It has I think like 10 questions depending where you live and you are allowed to miss up to four. Then since you'll have your permit you can drive with your parents legally in case somethin happends (God forbid). Where I live, you need to have at least 50 hours of driving experience, 40 daytime and 10 at night. Then all you should have to worry about is the insurance which will cost your parents an arm and a leg. So, I suggest you get your license earlier even though the insurance will be more but since you'll be under 18 you can get discounts for when you get goods grades, etc.
Hope this helps!!
