Question:
post office said they could'nt until i have cover letter. but friend said the dvla can?. can i drive it until i get my insurance through the post?.
Answers:
How do i get a title for a car that was left in my possession?
If your car is insured you can drive it, but not oa public road until you get your car tax! You might be able to tax it on line because they can check with your insurer see below link http://www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk/evlport...Correct, the post office has to see evidence. If your insurers have got around to putting your cover in the central database, you can do it via the DVLA website, they will check for cover & will also check to see if you have a valid MoT (if needed, and if it's the new computerised sort).
What does it mean when your license expires? Do you have to take any tests over again?
You cannot drive it or even leave parked on the public road without a valid tax disc. Go here and try to apply for a tax disc online:http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/motoring/own...
You still need the docs to get car tax from the DVLA. If your car is legal and your insurance company said you were insured from the date you phoned/emailed then you can drive. If you get stopped you have 7 days to produce your insurance documents and they will be through by then.
no, basically.
I'm a 21 year old student about to buy an audi a3 1.8se. What car insurers would u recommend?
YES you can still apply for your road tax through the DVLA website but it depends on how quick your insurance company are at sending through the details of your insurance.Providing your insurance information has been registered you can go ahead and tax online. The DVLA system will take you through the process and inform you if your details are not yet registered.
