Advice for young man in auto accident, no D.L., no insurance?

In order for you to sue the other party, you have to see a chiropractor or do physical therapy consecutively. You have to have 2 MRIs done, (1) Cervical and (2) Lumbar. The reason is that you would have to prove injuries and MRIs are really the only type of diagnostic test that can prove that you sustained a herniation or a bulge. Your main physician (Chiro or PT) has to send you for this. It should be done about a month after your accident b/c right now your neck and back are still swollen. So the results won't be as clear. Also, if you have herniations, your case is good to go. If it comes out normal or with bulges, you will most likely go to trial, if you pursue. Also go see a Neurologist. A Neuro conducts nerve test will correlate with the MRIs.

Contact your insurance company and let them handle it. A week is not a particularly long time period. If you get an attorney involved that will do two things.

1. Slow the process of making you whole considerably.
2. Make sure that a percentage of what you get, plus expenses, will go to the attorney rather than you.
