What happens if you stop sending your car payments?
Go to a dmv office and ammend the record. Can anyone recommend a Motor Insurance company who will insure drivers after disqualification?
Gather up the documents that prove the information is in error, and ask it be corrected. They will probably allow you to present the information and will make the needed corrections. You will need to get all the paperwork from the accident and send them to your states DMV. Some states list all accidents as at fault. I have even seen the insurance companies refusing to write a policy on someone with ANY claims. This includes comprehensive too. Your in a area that can be very subjective and you may not have a choice. Try the DMV, they might change it to reflect correct but no promises...good luck.
Sometimes DVL/DMV charges and insurance charges aren't the same. Usually it is the insurance company that charges fault when the driving record isn't charged, but, I guess it could be the opposite way. At the very least, you are entitled to an explanation from Driver Records, and if somebody ticked the wrong box, you are entitled to an appeal of the record. Not knowing which state you are in, I have no idea where to send you.
The police dept that responded to the accident, or the court commissioner's office

you have to go to the police dept(assuming they are the ones who notified the state) and they have to notify the state of the error.More Questions & Answers ...
