Is there a car insurance company that covers both in US and Canada?

Question:
We live in the US, and will only be in Canada for a year and a half.

Answers:

Automobile insurance companies?

If you will be in Canada for a year and a half, and have an address in Canada, and I assume be gainfully employed in Canada, you will no longer "live in the US" but will be a resident of Canada. You would need to change over license, registration and insurance. If you move back in a year and a half, change it back again.

Car Insurance and Registered Owners?

If you will be living in Canda for that long you will need to switch your insurance to a company in Canada.
