Any NJ insurance company that takes out of state drivers license?

Question:
My boyfriend has a NJ drivers license and I have a Michigan one. We are living in New Jersey now.
We just purchased a car insurance policy for our car, my boyfriend is the primary driver and I am the second one in the policy. Our problem is that they are asking me to get a NJ drivers license in a month and I can't do it at the moment, but I need to be under insurance.
So do you know if any insurance provider will take us in this situation?

I was hurt in a car wreck - no fault - whose insurance pays?

Please, Help me out with knowledge on this issue

When I sign a proof of loss from the Insurance Co. Why do I recieve a cheque in return?

So what's the problem with getting a NJ license now?...it may be a state law that you have to. As long as you have a Michigan license that's active, I don't think you'd have a problem.
Beware car insurance in NJ...it's always been one of the most expensive states in the country.
