i was driving a car that had no insurance and the car does'nt belong to me i was driving the owner of the car to the hospital because she had a broken leg . i was then involved in car accident i've only recieved 1 quote for the damage to the other car involved and they have already repaired it am i supposed to receive more than 1 quote because the insurance company is asking me for the money but i am a single parent on the pension and the owner of the car i was driving is also on the single parent pension

Make sure you get proof that they did pay for it (cancelled check, credit card receipt - sometimes people say they paid for already to get that amount paid for)... You do have to pay that. You can set up a payment plan where you pay a little bit each month. The person whose car it is, is just as liable as you are as they are the owner of the car. If they were to sue you for the money, they could go after the owner as well. However since you were driving, you are the one at fault and should pay the bill. I agree with Chris' answer. When you drive someone else's car, that car's insurance is primary to cover any resulting damage you may have caused. Should that car have no insurance but you do have a policy on a car you have, then your insurance would be secondary and cover the loss provided you're up to date on your premiums.i got hit recently by a woman with no insurance or drivers license. now i have a dented up piece of crap to drive around because of it. all i can say is thanks.... i got insurance so if i hit you, your stuff gets fixed but i suppose most other people don't feel the same way.
