my car has just been wrote off cat c , someone went into the back of my clio. ( not happy) they have offered me the money now and told me to do as i want with the car. what does it take to get it back on the road? its still has MOT and TAX and i still have the V5 logbook. took it to my mechanic today and he says its not even unroadworthy , would pass another mot. can`t even tell this car has been hit. so what do i do now?

If your insurance company has "written off" your car that means it would cost more money to fix it than the value of the car. This happens most often with older cars. Usually, the company takes the car for salvage at that time. Or, you can keep the car and do as you please with it. Usually, you don't get to do both -- take the cash and keep the car, too. Be sure to have your mechanic or body-man check the frame for damage. If you decide to sell it, be kind to the buyer and let him/her know it was in a wreck.The best thing i can suggest is take it to a Renault garage and ask them to have a look at it.
Do not tell them what happened just see what they come up with the chasis might be slightly twisted.
it is always hard to tell with a rear end shunt.
The end of the day if you sell the car and it is unroadworthy due to the damage and someone does get injured then you will be in alot of trouble.
