You need to find the bottom book value for your car.. If the work to fix the car is more than the value of the car the insurance company will write it off. I beleive that insurance companies also have a drive to get older vehciles of the roads so if its close your old friend may be wrote off.
Can insurance companies adjust your liability limits after an accident?
GET compensation. Without a doubt go to your doctor and complain about every single niggle.. Then get onto a reputable claims company.

Dint take your wounded neck lightly it can come back later and go through your insurance dont do a deal with the other driver he will ask for one then not pay. Also your insurance will wipe you How much have you insured for and is it market value or agreed value. After an auto accident, do I need a lawyer to get a settlement for bodily injury?
Yeah he may have totaled out the car. I don't think it is worth more then 800 now. Even if it is in good shape. You may be able to talk to insurance company in to not totaling the car out simply to help hold the resale value of the car. other wise if they total the car and you have it repaired it is considered a salvaged title and your resale value goes way down. a lot of people will not even touch a salvaged title car.Where is etowah located at? which state? and give proof?
this had happened to my family also .but the car was different it was Marita 800.but it was in nice condition .a quails driver had bumped in the car of behind.you should had made a police complaint.then also tell him to pay the money. In california, how long do I have to file a case against my insurance?
Not your insurance but person who hit you will be liable to pay for your car. If you put your claim through your insurance company then your company will pay you off and then get the money off the person. If your car value is greater than repair price then they will offer you market value of car not what you paid for it. So get your car valued if you donot agree with your insurance company. Sometime when its written off you can reject their offer and bargain with them and by doing this i did get it 2000 dollers more for my car then their initial offer. Goodluck !spartanBe careful when dealing with insurance. Make sure you write down everything.(dates, who you talked to about what, etc.) DO NOT ACCEPT a lump sum payment for your injury! You don't know if your neck injury could cause complications down the road. Tell them you want to leave your injuries open. You may need an attorney, but don't settle for a lump sum injury payment. As far as your car goes, I don't know how the system works in your country, but in the US, your car would be considered basic transportation and they would offer you a lump sum of say $500.00 If you have good maintainance records, you may be able to push for a little more. The person who looks at your car should also take into account the general condition of the car for the year.
I hope this helps somewhat.
PS. Also, in the US, seeing the other driver was at fault, his insurance would be responsible for a rental while your case is being handled. Check into that.
