Question:
My boyfriend was involved in an minor accident last year, infortunately at the time he was not insured i know (idiot but he didn't intend to drive it till it was but a friend was in trouble). anyway the police gave him a fine of £200 for not having insurance he has since paid this but has now receive a court summons for not having all the documents required at the scene, we don't understand why he has been summoned the only documents he didn't have were insurance and he has already been fined for that so does anyone know why he's should be summoned for something he thought was over with??

Is refurbishing an engine betterment for insurance purposes?
Hi Chell!Buying car that is imported from Japan but already here in the State of CA?
It sounds like the 200 quid was for the damages for the other vehicle if the fine was issued by the police..but that sounds abit odd too as it's the courts what should deal with that??
He is appearing in court for the punishment of driving without insurance which is a fine & a minium 0f six points!! I got done for no insuance & I got 7 points & a 240 quid fine..they might come down abit harder as another vehicle was involved tho : (
What is the penalty for driving without insurance in Michigan?

I have a car on finance its just been wrote off?
the 200 quid fine he got before did he appear in court for that??(or was it from the police??) they might just have forgotten to add penalty points to his licence..(they do make mistakes)or it might be were he's failed to produce his documents like MOT etc to the police station within 7 days of the accident' which is a small fine.
but basically he's in court for points

He shouldn't be , there has been error somewhere , the court will throw it out !!I sold my car (virginia) but I lost the plates to turn itto dmv. HELPPPPPP?
This is a very serious offence and the Magistrate may want to add some points to his licence. My car was recently totaled, where on the title do i sign ?
Insurance is possibly THE most important documents to have and a lack of insurance is veiwed very dimly, points being added to his licence is very probably the reason for the summonsSo how long and how much will this type of insurance cost ?
Not sure how the Police could give him a £200 fine. Only the magistrate can do that and would generally put about 6 points on licence for no insurance.Has there been some oversight perhaps? Did they forget to put points on the first time so are having a second bite?
Go to Court and you'll find out.
I think you may have answered your own question. He was fined for not having insurance. He is now being summoned for not having the correct documentation. This is a different and seperate offence.
What to do to add hi-ab/small skip waggon to licence?
unfortunately yes maybe the person involved as made a claim against him there insurers want to claim back there money for the car /bike damage just hope you don't go through what i had to the woman got a pay out of 63k and she was the one who was at fault but because i had no insurance they tried to blame me lucky for me the person who i was working for didn't have insurance at all so the courts let me off and he is still being chased by the motor insurance bureau for the 63k they paid outWhat does the Wisconsin drivers license number mean?
to be honest i am not surprised, you can plead guilty without actually going to court just return the forms with your plea and reasons, they will go ahead without your presence and charge you as necessary, be warned will probably get points on licence.hope this helps...ps we all learn the hard way stay smilingYou can now recieve a Fixed Penalty notice for no insurance which is 6 points and £200 fine - this is enough to lose you your driving licence if you've been driving for less than 2 years. It seems like he's been fined for failiing to produce other docs - ie mot or driving licence within the specified time - normally 7 days.
