Question:
I am driving a 26' truck from San Antonio TX to Vancouver, Canada. It's about 3000 miles. It will be me, (50 yr. old lady) and my two dogs. What is the best insurance carrier? I want replacement value on my load of worldly possesions, and health, life, liability, collision etc. U-haul doesn't offer enough. Thanks.

Even if you had a car, there would be no liability coverage transferred because you are not driving a private passenger type vehicle. The collision & liability should be purchased through Uhaul. Your homeowners/tenants policy covers your contents. You should have a policy where you are moving from & one where you are going to. There is 100% of the contents coverage in transit for 30 days while you are moving from one place to another. There is no breakage coverage on a standard homeowners or tenants policy. Check with your agent to see if you can purchase this. You have to purchase a health policy to get health insurance. If you are changing jobs, look into Cobra from your old job if you had your health insurance there & keep it going until your health insurance starts on your new job (I see you are moving to Canada, I don't know how soon after your move the national insurance kicks in, you would have to check into that). Also, you have to purchase a separate life insurance policy too. I don't see how you can have everything with one carrier because there are too many things you need and in 2 countries. Hope this helps and have a safe trip.try out my source for some help
