Can someone with a revoked license ...?

Question:
Can someone with a revoked license register and insure a car?

How much could I pay for an insurance policy in UK?

My sister's boyfriend is on the revoked list and he just bought a used truck. They say it's in his name but I don't think you can register and insure a car if you don't have a license. And won't the insurance be sky high if you've previously lost your license?

Anyone know what sxi?

Oh .. and the temporary plate has my sister's name on it. Doesn't that mean it's being registered in her name? And if it's being registered in her name doesn't it have to be insured in her name?

If i wanted to rent a car do i have to have my own car insurance or can i get it through the rental company?

BTW, we're in NJ.

About how much is RV insurance?

Yes, you can register a vehicle, and buy a vehicle with no license at all. As you said, the insurance bill would be sky high though. If the temporary plate has your sister's name, yes, that means she bought the truck.

How do I notify my auto insurance company that I'm cancelling my policy?

If by chance she is putting everything in her name, and then letting him drive without a license, she will be the one who won't be covered in case of an accident (insurance fraud), not him, but she will suffer the losses.

What are my options if a company refuses to repossess my car eventhough I haven't paid in 4 months?

depending where you are. in australia you can insure and register a vehicle but the insurance is sky high. as long as you dont drive the vehicle. insure it under someone elses name.

In the state of Wisconsin?

No he cannot get insurance without a license as the agent will ask for it and make a copy of it. The insurance company will also do a license check before the policy is issued. He also must have a valid driver's license to register the truck. If your sister's name is on the temporary plate, and he is stopped for driving it, she will have problems for letting an unlicensed driver have access to her vehicle, since the temporary tag means she owns it. Yes the insurance would have to be in her name. You and your sister are asking for more trouble than you even can imagine. If he had an accident in the truck, you sister will be the one held liable and could be sued. When he does get his license back his insurance will be so expensive I doubt he will be able to afford it. You and your sister are getting way over your heads helping him. Where did you find this winner anyway? He is using the both of you, and you don't realize it. Another thing if anything happens, and you or your sister have this vehicle's insurance in either of your names, whose insurance rate will it effect?

Driver is other than the insured?

unless he got a sr-22 but then he could only drive back and forth to work.if the temp tag is in your sisters name doesnt mean its registered in her name,i would check into it though.i live in texas so it may be diff from state to state

Cheap insurance?

I sure hope someone without a license can't registar and insure a car.of course the insurance will be high but that's the price you pay for BREAKING THE LAW

Car Write Off?

He can buy the truck (From a private party or slime ball dealer) but he would have a difficult time registering the truck. Also insuring the truck. If he is pulled over the truck is impounded and she would have to pay to have it cleared from the impound. If the tag has her name on it then she owns the truck. She can sell it out from under him if she really wants to. She can also report it stolen if he is driving it. Hey it's register in her name. Tell her this BOY is a Loser and she needs to go out and find a MAN. Someone who is not such a grease ball and has the intelligence to keep a drivers license. The part that bothers me the most is if she did not use her name to register the truck then he fraudulently did. That right there tells you the character of the person.

Driving without a license?

No, he can not register a vehicle without a license.
In fact, the state will demand you send them your plates if you lose your license.
The DMV will not issue a temp tag with your sisters name on it unless the car is in your sisters name.
He might be able to get insurance, but if he were to have a wreck, the insurance would not pay off.
This is deep deep trouble brewing here.
