Purchase used motorcycle from dealer &8 mo without title what can i do?

bike from dealer who purchase from auction out of state dmv has not send plates or title and he says it dmv, he has gone three times to dmv, what can i do and what could be wrong and would dmv contact dealer with hold up problem because dealer thinks its going thru,its been 8 mo.

Sue him for your money back or the title since he hasn't given it to you. I wouldnt want to keep a bike where it wasn't really mine because I didnt have the title. He can get it back at anytime because you dont have the title, he does. Protect yourself now and file for your money back. He'll probably kick his butt into gear and get that for you.

Most of the time on the first visit they will advise you at no charge. You may want the attorney to represent you in dealing with the DMV, if that's where the title is stuck.

The dealer isn't going to do anything without being pressured--unless there is a likelihood it will cost money. If he has to pay property taxes on unsold inventory that could be an incentive to get the title moving.
