I am from Texas. I am buying out-of-state Car from NJ from my friend. Where do i need to pay tax? In Tx or in NJ. What are all the documents that I need to take to court house in TX to get the vehicle name transfer to my name.
Answers:
Can I claim for damage I did to my car a year ago?
No NJ tax just Texas tax.Take the title, insurance, proof of purchase and ID to the court house.
taxes are taken out at the point of sale. so if you buy the car in NJ you will have to pay NJ tax.
I have lost my matriculation certificate. How can I have a duplicate of it.?
**** NJAs a practice you do not have to pay tax unless you decide to get a NJ title at which point they would ask for proof of the sales amount. I don't know how what taxes you might pay in Texas but you can usually use the blue book value(wholesesale) without too much trouble.
My number plate and insurance?
If you register it in NJ to drive it to TX, you'll have to pay the NJ tax. TX will give you a credit against your TX tax for the NJ tax paid, though. How many questions can you get wrong on a dmv written test?
To get your TX title and reg you'll need proof of TX residence, proof of ID (usually your TX license but you don't have to be licensed in TX to title and register a car), the assigned NJ title, proof of insurance and the completed TX title and registration application form. And the fees of course.
