Today I asked my friend if she can give me a ride home from school. After dropping me off, I got a phone call saying she just got a ticket for going 30 on a 25 mph road and also got another ticket because she doesn't have her car insurance. I feel horrible because if I didnt ask her, it wouldn't of happened. Is it my fault and should I also half for her tickets?

She knew that she had no insurance. And you did not make her exceed the posted speed limit. She could have said no to you being in her car. She made the decision to drive you. I would not feel guilty about something she could have prevented on her own.It is her fault and only her fault. If she had not done something wrong, she would not have gotten a ticket.
I would pay half the tickets--at least. Yes, she was ultimately responsible for her actions, but I would feel guilty that I had asked her for a ride.
She is going to pay for those tickets over and over anyway. Those will certainly raise her insurance rates (when she ever gets some).
Which, makes me think...you can beat a no insurance ticket in my state. All you have to do is show for your court date and have valid proof of insurance at that time. She would have to pay the court costs, but they will drop the ticket. Maybe your state has a similar system.

Tell her you are so sorry she got the ticket. Leave it at that. Having insurance is required by law. Better she get a ticket now than going to jail or being financially ruined for life after having an accident. As for the speeding, it wasnt that fast, I hate cops that write those kind of tickets. She didn't have Insurance when you got into the car for sure, thats was her fault, straight up... The speeding is on her also she could have cruised home low and slow but she got in a hurry and got caught...Hopefully she'll realizes that the responsibility is all hers... That's not your fault. She chose to exceed the speed limit, which lead to these tickets. It would have happened anyway more than likely.you don't have to but I would offer to pay for half the tickets to make yourself feel better
