I was in a car accident in Oct 2006, I was injured in the accident and still under medical treatment but insurance is now refusing to pay any medical bills and my 6 month renewal is up and I am wondering if I need to renew this because of being in a accident or not. If anyone has been through anything similar like this could you please advise.

If you have a lien holder that requires you to maintain insurance then I would suggest you renew, but once all this is passed and settled and if your current Insurance carrier gave you allot of grief over this then I'd start shopping for a different carrier.

You should consult a lawyer, its BS that they are refusing to cover your treatment (if its required by your doctor). You shouldn't have any problem renewal your insurance but that at the discrestion of your insurance company. Every company have different policy on when to terminate a policy and most will depend on how much the claim was made against the policy holder (you).
why is your insurance paying for the bills?if you were not at fault then it is up to the other person's insurance co. I was in a not at fault accident and my insurance was not affected by it. all they did was file a report as documentation in case the other insurance didn't pay. i did get a lawyer only for personal injury purposes.as far as renewing if you want to change company's then don't pat find another,but you will also have to pay start up fees.so weigh your options ...keep current insurance and pay the renewal and be on your way or find another ..only you can make that decision yourself. but i would find out why they aren't paying

As for your insurance paying for your medical...why aren't they? Do you have the correct coverage on your policy? If you do, has the limit been exhausted? OR...are your doctors overbilling for services not rendered and/or unbundling your treatment to build up your claim, which is illegal, and your insurance company is onto them?

As for your renewal.most states have a law that says you can't be canceled for accidents, only for non-payment. You should speak to your agent or the Underwriting department for clarification.
