Brake warning light - Vauxhall Astra?

Question:
I have a Vauxhall Astra Diesel 1.7 on a '04 plate.

I have a 2000 Olds Shilloutte with temp gauge running up at stand still then back to normal when moving?

Driving in to work this morning - I noticed that my 'brake warning' light on the dash every once or a while would come on for about a couple of minutes then go off again.

Will a 302 tranny out of a pickup bolt up to a 4.6 Mercury motor?

The brakes feel fine - I believe the light also has something to do with the clutch system.
Any suggestions as to the likely problem?

brake fluid could be low or you could be losing fluid at a wheel cylnder or you could have the rotors or disk failing .. I would have your fluid levels checked first and then take it somewhere to have it checked.. never can be to safe .really

You probably need to top up with hydraulic fluid (brake fluid). You can buy it any garage. Just check your hand book to make sure you put it in the correct reservoir.

Check the fluid levels, and then check the brake pads for wear. The light will come on if the levels drop too low or the pads wear out.
