First, expect the tranny to not last longer than 80k miles. Okay, you can obtain this particular engine/trans combination at any "you pull it" salvage yard for between $60 to $150 dollars. You would be better off simply running far, far away from it though. The quality of the pair in general does not justify your own elbo grease being invested while installing them in another vehicle.

If you are in a busy populated area, someone if looking for that transmission now at about 1500.00 installed if it is good. If it is bad, you will have it back. As-is doesn't apply in court for taurus or sable. They have the worst transmission reputation. Usually dead at 70,000 miles.The engine is about $500.00 f.o.b. I have two Tauruses in the bone pile out back. They look very nice but need transmissions that cost more than the complete car in good condition is worth.
