Question:
I took my car in in August for repair (car would not run) the mechanic diagnosed a ignition module and a harmonic balancer for $300+. He kept my car for 3 weeks.
The car broke down again, same issue- not running. The second mechanic diagnosed and replaced crank sensor and Ignition module for 200. He said the Crank was not bolted down tightly and it ruined the new ignition module.
The first mechanic refuses to warranty the PART only. I cannot find my reciept. All I wanted him to do is swap out the part- it should have a year warranty. 2nd mechanic said the ignition module was brand new. I want to take Mechanic #1 to small claims court, but don't know if I can with out a reciept. Please advise. I am not a greedy want something for free, but this WAS just in August, and I went without a car for 3 weeks- and the work apparently was shoddy.
