I generally recommend about 36k miles but I also go by the manufacturer recommendations. If you came into my shop I would look at the fluid and if it looked dirty I would then ask for the owners manual and look in it to find what the manufacturer would recommend for mileage. If it stated anything higher then I would tell you to wait and have it done when the time comes. It is really hard to tell by color anymore because of all the different types of tranny fluids. I have even seen some Toyota's that take a purple color fluid that i think is a dealer only fluid. If someone is trying to tell you to change it then look on the manual for the mileage and then if the manual says something like 50k or 100k miles ask them why you should change it. Some times fluids can get dirty earlier than what specified in the book. Depends on type of driving. Towing or off roading and believe it or not long highway trips are hard on the tranny. Unlike the engine oil which loves long highway trips. the tranny doesn't have the cooling technology as the engine.Wheres the cheapest place to buy rims on the InTeRnEt? Dvinci, Asanti, ect,..?

Cars differ in their recommended service intervals. Following the manufacturers service intervals can greatly extend the life of the car, and save you money in unnecessary repairs that have to be made due to bad maintenance.
