Question:
i drive a 5 speed 95 dodge neon stick-shift. everything was cool with my car untill about an hour ago. my clutch feels really hard to shift! out of the blue it feels like i have to muscle-out every shift. however, a couple times it felt as smooth as ever. what is wrong with my car, and is it safe to drive when it sometimes takes me 15-20 seconds just to shift into 1st? all of the pedals work just fine. its mostly the shifter itself that isnt giving as much "give".ill push the shifter up into first, and i push and it just wont go. it seems like i have to hit it at just the right angle to shift it, or just muscle it out. i havent replaced the transmission fluid since i baught the car. if i turn the car off, it goes into the gears with ease, but soon as i turn it on, its hard again. PLEASE HELP!
Answers:
a driver who can drive without licence. who is that?
Sounds like the clutch needs adjusting, or it may need to be replaced soon.Your shifter linkage may be out of adjustment or bent...
clutch needs adjusting or maybe yours has fluid to run it, check on the firewall to see if it needs fluid.
