I got a camper trailer and its time to replace the battery thats on it. Currently there is a 450CC battery Deep Cycle and it doesnt seem to last long. Should i be buying a deepcycle 1000CC battery or a gel cell or a sealed gel cell?? I also have a solar panel to charge the battery as it goes down.

I would buy the biggest, deep cycle rv - marine battery that will fit in the battery compartment without grounding out on the frame. I have 2 950's on my Nomad travel trailer, and it runs 12v accessories for quite a while! You don't need a gel -cell, but if you can afford them... why not! Optima batteries are the best ones out there, but they are expensive! Shop around for the best deal, as prices will vary greatly. It might not be lasting very long now, because one or more cells are week, not holding a charge. That is the usual reason for changing a battery...

If it's also the main battery for starting the engine and powering the automobile circuits, the proper battery for that application is the standard (non - deep cycle) car battery. If it's an auxiliary battery, then deep cycle would be best.More Questions & Answers ...
