Question:
I've been redoing the interior of my [street] truck. The vehicle I have never came with black carpet, and tracking down aftermarket black carpet is next to impossible. I was wondering about using "Duplicolor Vinal and Fabric" spray paint. I have used it on some ohter parts of my interior (for two toneing) and have been quite happy about the resolts. It says on the can that you can use it on carpet.
I was wondering, has anyone used this (or any other brand, if so, what brand) and how did it turn out in the long run, after it had been worn in a little bit, after a few weeks, months or years. I will be putting floor mats in, but I still have the tunnel and the door cills to deal with. will it last in the long term?
Answers:
Yes believe it or not it does work! You want to use a brush. Spray the paint on, and brush it into the rug, then repeat until you achieve proper coverage. You are going to be stepping on it, so you will have to touch it up from time to time. But we used it in a daily driver, and it looked good, and held up well.
Toyota 18-RC misfire problem.?
i own a shop and if you,ll go to this site man they have carpet there for your truck and you wont have to bother with trying to dye it,the site is www.acdorsett.com go there and look at their carpets, i have used the d before it does ok but fades out after a while, good luck.I would think it depends more on what color you are "painting over"...if you have dark colored carpet now, it will probably "blend" better than a light color. Getting an even coat would be my concern.
1996 Pontiac sunfire engine and water pump?
Are you pulling the carpet all the way out to do it? I would suggest you do, and lay it out on a bench or on the floor with good lighting overhead. That will give you a better visual idea of how you are doing...it'll dry better too...
