Question:
Has anyone with a 2002 Ford Explorer had to get their transmission replaced with 75,000 miles or less? My O/D light was flashing so I took my car in to get it checked hoping it wasnt a serious problem. I have seen hundreds of complaints on other websites about the 2002 Explorer transmissions, yet when I called Ford itself, they said they haven't heard that many complaints and unless more people call or write and complain, it will never be on recall. Of course my warranty expired and $2600 later, I am livid. The mechanic even said they have seen more 2002 Explorers than any other car out there. He also said that Ford admitted they were having problems with that year transmissions yet wont do anything about it. Is anyone else having this problem?

you got hosed. Are you a turn key driver? you know get in turn the key and it starts so you drive. Have you ever serviced the tranny? Changed the fluid and filter? You mech is an Idiot ford has been using that same tranny since 2000 and recently updated it with the new 07 model year. So your tranny knew that it was in a 2002 model. some people will believe anything
