After she hooked the battery up backwards we had to have a 100 amp fuse changed. Now the radio, and maybe a few other things will not work. The car is a 98 tiburon fx. What could damage could she have done? It is an aftermarket radio.

fried!Check other smaller fuses that may have blown in the fuseblock inside the car. If the aftermarket radio was correctly installed, the fuse that it was connected to at tje fuseblock would be blown, or the fuse in the back of the radio itself could have blown. GOOD LUCK!

i own a repair shop,and its actually not burnt to crisp,,but it has some damage to it,first the alternator will need replaced,and its possible it tried to reverse the current for the vehicle,so it probably has blown a bunch of the smaller fuses for it,,you,ll have to check over every one of them and see ,usually when this happens it does reverse the current on most of the devices in the car,and they wont work anymore,this can be a costly repair to deal with,the last one i repaired like this took around 1500 bucks to get it right again,and it took a while to repair it also,but you may be looking at some major damage here,good luck,i hope this help,s.ya right.. blame on the wife!

First why did you let your wife hook up the battery.where I come from that is mans job or at least a mechanic.Alternator,all the wiring,car burn to the ground,worse battery blown up in her face.May be the 100 amp fuse got the blunt of the power is the car running if it is only the 100 amp fuse and radio you are lucky very lucky the battery did not blow up.I guest she had a good reason to do as she did,but some one needs to show her things like this I have showed my wife how to jump a car off how to check her oil how to change a flat,and she has did it before I work away from home all week.does anyone know why my Peugeot diesel car keeps on chugging ive put in cleaning fluid?

YOU PROBABLY DID ALOT OF DAMAGE, THE ECU COULD HAVE SUFFER SOME DAMAGE, BUT BEFORE YOU REPLACE ANYTHING CHECK ALL THE FUSES, UNTIL U ARE SURE ALL OF THEM ARE GOOD, AFTER THAT CHECK IF THE CAR RUN'S FINE, IF IT IS THEN U ARE LUCKY...
