How can you tell if your fuel injector isn't working properly?

Why do mufflers leak a type of fluid out of it?

Fuel injectors will usually cause a rough running condition, or missing as your engine rpm increases. They'll usually have carbon deposits on the tips, and the spray pattern will be altered. Try some fuel injector cleaner in your gas tank (available at most autoparts stores), or have them cleaned at a reputable shop. Usually about a hundred bucks. Check your main fuel filter as well. Injector systems are high pressure, and air in the lines will make your engine pop until the air is worked out. If you have them cleaned, the shop should do a fuel pressure test on the car. Poor performance, bad mileage, and excessive smoke are symtoms of injector problems as well. Good luck!

How long can I leave my car in the driveway w/o starting it up?

He said it all beautifully...but, I just wanted to let you know it's also a really cheap repair to make so don't delay it cuz of expense. The fuel injector cleaner needs to be poured into as close to empty gasoline tank as possible for best results.

'93 Ford F-150 Windshield Wipers Won't Work?

I am more into the older Muscle Cars than the newer ones, but you can still try my advise. The injectors on my pick-up are fired individually much like spark plugs. So if you unplug them one at a time and run the engine you should be able to pinpoint the bad one. Example. unplug the first one, with the engine running, and if it makes a difference, that one was working. Keep doing this until you unplug one that doesn't make a difference in the way the engine runs, that one most likely is the problem. Of course you have to plug each one back in after checking each one, otherwise you'll end up with them all unplugged! Remember there are a lot of moving parts under the hood with the engine running, so be careful or let a qualified person do this for you.
