as a general rule of thumb...........an automatic trans and transfer as well as a manual trans and trasnfer take the same fluids.manuals take 90wt
autos take atf .

they use transmission fluid in all of the newer ones,,it will use the same thing that your transmission will use ,they started this some years back because the fluid cools,and lubricates better,,but that's whats in it,good luck hope this help,s..its mercron,,or dexron lll in it,,good luck.Strong smell of gas when driving the car?
