Question:
Tonight, I was driving home about 1030pm, and all the sudden both of my lights on my car went out. Its a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire, and when you put it in gear, a light on the dash comes on to show that the lights are on. But tonight when they just went out, that indicator light was flashing. what is going on?

The indicator on your dash is not to tell you that the headlites are on, it is to tell you the daytime running lights are on, which in your car are the headlites, if this is flashing then it is indicating (as you know) that there is a failure in the lighting system. Unfortunatley this could be a number of different problems and probably better for an onsight diagnosis and repair. One thing to try is with the headlight switch on turn on the bright lites and see if anything occurs, reply on your question please and I will try to help you more.A/C Compressor shuts off during hard acceleration in 2007 Honda Civic EX?

Sounds like you have a ground or a circuit problem or a combinaion of both. If the headlite is loose, then more than likely the mounting bracket is broken, it is possible then that a "hot" wire is chaffed and has a bare spot, causing an occassional short.

I am not familiar with a lemon law in NYS or one that applies to a used vehicle, you may contact the used motor vehicle division in your state, but before that, just check with the dealer you bought it from, diplomacy and courtesy tend to go a long way, just explain it as a safety issue and you would like to know if they can help, or maybe both of you can help.
