Can someone please check this VIN # 1J4GZ78S9WC152816?
I doubt it's fuel system. Most likely it's IAC valve. It's either stuck or does not move fully (most likely). Once you start the engine and run it for a while, it gets warm and you don't have to step on gas to keep it running. When it's cold outside it makes the problem worse. For an Explorer, you can get one from Pep boys or any other out store for ~$40. Very easy to replace as well. It sits on top of the engine. Also, there might be a way to test. I'll refer you to Haynes repair manual for directions. Overall, IAC is a very common failure, it usually gets clogged with carbon deposits after 60-70K miles on any car.Good luck
sounds like you need a can of Dry Gas.
It's cheap, and you just add it to the fuel lines so they don't freeze
How can I conceal a burn mark on car upholstery?
You can have one of two issues but your description is vague...If you can start it after the gas is pushed, sometimes that is the idle speed motor.. but usually when you let your foot off it will normally kill...
The keying it on and off a couple of times means that the fuel system is loosing it's prime... either the fuel pressure regulator is bad/clogged (some are part of the fuel pump itself.. if you went to autozone or the other mass merchandizers all you got is the pump.. it's wiser to change the whole assembly with Ford OEM as most Ford pump issues are with the regulator or the screen not the pump itself)
Auto Maintenance Needed - Dealer or other Mechanic?
Aslo check the fuel filter for restrictions, or a fuel injector leaking... you will unfortuneately have to get a fuel pressure guage and find out for sure however...
