Question:
currently it has 119,500 miles. the engine is misfiring at low rpm. ive change out the spark plugs, distributor cap, wires. its still misfiring. can a bad timing belt be the problem or may there be something wrong?
Answers:
What's wrong with my 1999 ford F150?
With a vehicle that has almost 120,000 miles, I would recommend replacing the timing belt just because if it breaks, your engine is screwed. Timing belts are made so they don't stretch very much, they generally just wear out and break. More than likely, you have either a bad injector or a bad sensor somewhere that needs to be checked out. What happens if Dexron ATF is used in a Ford instead bof type F?
the timing belt could be a posibilty or maybe the fuel injectors need to be readjustedTiming belt could be stretched, at 119,000 miles, I'd change the belt fast anyway...also, check out the egr valve.
My husband says to try going to Allexperts.com and someone there should be able to help.
